Frequently Asked Questions
Which carpet cleaning method do you use?
We use the Hot Water Extraction Method also known as “steam cleaning”. This system provides the best cleaning and is the only cleaning method classified as “deep cleaning”. All the others are considered “light surface cleaning” because they are incapable of removing soil deep in the pile. Most major carpet manufacturers recommend Hot Water Extraction as the preferred method of cleaning.
How long will it take my carpet to dry after it is cleaned?
Drying times can vary due to a number of factors such as humidity, density of your carpet, fiber type, etc. Ventilation and air circulation will help reduce drying time.
How soon can I walk on my carpet?
We recommend limiting the foot traffic until the carpet is completely dry as moist surfaces are more likely to get stained again. You may walk on your carpet immediately after cleaning by using house slippers or booties.
How often should I have my carpets professionally cleaned?
Cleaning your carpets on a regular basis improves indoor air quality. Carpet should be cleaned before it begins to exhibit signs of soiling. Failure to regularly clean carpet could allow soil and allergens to build-up within the pile. Professional cleaning is recommended 2 to 3 times a year or as necessary to keep a healthy home especially if you have children, pets, smokers, or if members of your family suffer from allergies.
Do you move furniture?
Our prices include moving light furniture. Heavy and breakable items including china cabinets, pianos, bookcases full of books, or any electronic equipment including TV’s, stereos, computers or fragile items are left in place for liability reasons. Beds, dressers, desks and other such heavier items may be moved upon request at an additional charge. Please inform us prior to your cleaning if you want such items moved.
What do I need to do before you come to my home?
To allow us to work more efficiently we recommend moving any breakables and valuables out of the rooms we will be cleaning. Move wires and cables clear of the carpet, pin up any full length draperies and bed skirts. Do not move large furniture unless removing it from the carpet. While we are at you home please keep children and animals clear of our work area.
Does your cleaning process soak the backing of the carpet?
No, although our process rinses the carpet deep down, moisture does not penetrate the backing of the carpet. With our powerful truck-mounted powered equipment, your carpet is thoroughly rinsed and extracted, but left only damp to the touch.
